JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB TITLE:                                                            Food Service Site Supervisor

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

A. Education Level:                                  High School Diploma

 

B. Experience Desired:                           Experience in managing school kitchen operations, inventory ordering, receiving, storage, and maintenance; managing personnel; menu planning; knowledgeable with all school nutrition requirements

 

C. Physical Requirements:                    Requires constant hearing, hand-eye coordination, mind-eye coordination, intermittent keyboarding, sitting and lifting. Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, fingers, standing, walking and carrying

 

REPORTS TO:                                                     FS Director

 

WORKS WITH:                                                   FS Director, Operations Manager, other Food Service Site Supervisors, building Principal, building staff

 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

 

1.       Maintains safety and sanitation procedures which are in conformity with local and state codes. 

2.       Supervises and assists in training and scheduling respective site staff.

3.       Participates as necessary in Food Service Department audits and inspections.

4.       Updates respective site standard operating procedures and manuals as necessary.

5.       Orders and receives food inventory replenishments for respective site.

6.       Maintains site inventory of food, equipment and supplies.

7.       Assists in production and serving as needed.

8.       Collaboratively with District site supervisors, plans menus, determines recipes and portions for respective building grade-level students.

9.       Collaboratively with District site supervisors, plans activities for National School Lunch Week and National School Breakfast Week.

10.   Evaluates respective site staff.

11.   Performs other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

A.    Indoors

B.    Climatic Environment – Occasionally subjected to cold temperatures below 32 degrees when removing or storing food in freezer. Often subjected to atmospheric conditions of odors and mists.

C.    Hazards – Occasionally subjected to mechanical and electrical hazards. Caution also required to avoid potential for burns.

D.    Work Year – This position is for a contract year to include all school days and preparation days prior to start of school and cleanup days at the completion of the school year.
